    It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dr. Tricia Ferrin after a courageous battle with cancer.
    Since joining Tanner Clinic in August 2022, Dr. Ferrin made a lasting impact on our patients, staff, and community through her compassionate care, dedication, and kindness. She was deeply loved by her patients and greatly respected by her colleagues.
    Our hearts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
    Dr. Ferrin will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
    There will be a visitation on Thursday, June 11th from 6-8 pm at the Layton Lindquist Mortuary. Friday Visitation from 9:30-10:30 am at the Morgan West Stake Center, 2755 West Old High Road. The funeral services will begin at 11:00 am.

    According to authorities, the crash occurred at approximately 9:10 p.m. near the nature preserve area along Cecil Ashburn Drive in southeast Huntsville. Investigators said Tyrrell Jr. was riding his motorcycle when it was involved in a collision with a passenger vehicle under circumstances that remain under investigation. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found him with fatal injuries. Despite all efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

    The driver of the other vehicle was also transported to Huntsville Hospital Trauma Services for medical treatment. Officials have not yet released updates regarding their condition.

    According to Cleveland Police, officers were called shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday to the 15700 block of Puritas Avenue after receiving reports of a gunshot victim and what was initially believed to be a suicide attempt. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found Brielle suffering from what initially appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

    Emergency medical personnel quickly transported her to a local hospital, where doctors worked to save her life. Despite those efforts, Brielle sadly succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead on Thursday, leaving loved ones devastated by the sudden and heartbreaking loss.

    As detectives began examining the circumstances surrounding the incident, investigators discovered that statements given at the scene did not align with the injuries Brielle had suffered. Police said inconsistencies in the information provided immediately raised concerns, prompting detectives to take a closer look at what had truly happened inside the residence.

    During the course of the investigation, a 22-year-old man who was present at the scene was interviewed by investigators and later taken into custody. Following the discovery of new evidence, Cleveland Police officially reclassified the case from what was originally believed to be a suicide investigation into a homicide investigation.

    Authorities have not yet released the identity of the man arrested, and formal charges have not been announced as investigators continue gathering evidence.

Jim passed earlier today after a long and courageous battle with cancer—one he faced with the same strength, humility, and selflessness that characterized his career and his life.

    Jim proudly joined the Dedham Police Department on August 31, 2015. From the beginning, he distinguished himself as a dedicated professional committed to excellence. After more than two years assigned to uniformed patrol, Jim’s demonstrated skill, judgment, and work ethic earned him the opportunity to serve as a detective. In that role, he handled complex, drawn-out investigations that required advanced training, keen insight, and perseverance—qualities Jim embodied every day.

    On August 22, 2022, Jim was promoted to the rank of Police Sergeant, a role in which he continued to serve with distinction. As the department’s representative at the Dedham District Court, Jim worked closely with the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office and court personnel to ensure cases were handled with care, professionalism, and integrity. He was a steadfast advocate for domestic violence victims and took pride in leading efforts to develop programs that better supported victims through law enforcement involvement. His work reflected not only his professional skill, but his deep compassion for those in need.

    Jim was a man of great character, intelligence, and principle. A quiet leader, he led not through volume or spotlight, but through the quality of his work and the integrity of his actions. He earned the respect of his colleagues by doing things the right way—consistently, thoughtfully, and with honor. Even during his battle with cancer, Jim continued to serve his community, demonstrating extraordinary commitment and selflessness in the face of immense personal challenge.

    While Jim was proud of his service and of his family’s legacy in law enforcement, nothing mattered more to him than his family. He was immeasurably devoted to them, drawing strength from their love and support throughout his life and especially during his illness.     It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Meredith Kane Ellis at the age of 39, who passed away peacefully on the morning of June 11th 2026, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

    Born in Rochester New York and raised in Glens Falls Meredith lived a life filled with kindness, generosity, and an appreciation for the natural world. She earned her Bachelors degree from Saint Lawrence University in conservation biology, where a passion for protecting the environment flourished. In the summer before her senior year Meredith participated in a study abroad program in Kenya that would help shape the course of her life. There she met the love of her life Bryan Ellis. Following graduation they set off on a winding adventure taking them from living in Colorado, attending graduate school in Syracuse and later settling down to create a life together in Delmar to raise a family.

    Meredith found joy in tending her garden, exploring hiking trails, camping, and hosting family and friends. She especially treasured sharing these experiences some of her favorite places such as the Adirondack Mountains and Acadia National Park creating countless cherished memories. Meredith loved to bring people together especially in her home. She delighted in hosting family during the holidays, holiday parties with friends, and backyard cookouts. Meredith had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved.

    More than anything, Meredith loved her family. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, a cherished daughter, and a beloved sister. Her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

    Meredith is survived by her husband, Bryan Ellis and her daughter, Madeline Ellis; her mother, Lucie Kane; her father, Bill Kane; and her brother, Bobby Kane (Tabby). She also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will deeply miss her presence and carry her memory in their hearts.

    Though her time with us was far too short, Meredith’s love, strength, and spirit will continue in those who were fortunate enough to know her.

    Meredith’s family will receive visitors at the Applebees Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave. Delmar on Thursday June 18th from 5-8pm. Meredith will be forever loved, missed, and remembered.
