With profound sadness, family, friends, and members of the Plymouth community are mourning the loss of James Galt, Jr., 64, of Plymouth, whose life came to a tragic end in the early hours of Sunday, August 16, 2026.<\/p>\n

According to the Marshall County Coroner\u2019s Office and Marshall County Sheriff\u2019s Department, authorities were notified shortly after 1:00 a.m. of a golf cart accident at 10055 Pretty Lake Trail in Plymouth. The investigation determined that Galt had left the Pretty Lake Golf Club while driving a golf cart. The vehicle went off an embankment and landed on an asphalt parking lot, resulting in injuries that proved fatal.<\/p>\n

James Galt, Jr. was pronounced deceased at the scene by Chief Deputy Coroner John Lampkins. The Marshall County Sheriff\u2019s Department reported that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the accident. Responding agencies included the Marshall County Sheriff\u2019s Department, Marshall County Coroner\u2019s Office, and Plymouth Fire Department.<\/p>\n
