The Bellevue community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Julia Carroll, 68, who died following a serious two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Cornhusker Road and 48th Street in Sarpy County, Nebraska.<\/p>\n
According to the Sarpy County Sheriff\u2019s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 7:05 p.m. on August 14, 2026. Authorities said Carroll was driving a Chrysler Town and Country southbound on 48th Street when witnesses reported that her vehicle entered the intersection against a steady red light and collided with a Volkswagen Jetta operated by 22-year-old Jacob Brilhart of Papillion.<\/p>\n
The impact was followed by another collision involving a Ford F-250 driven by 18-year-old Brooke Brown, also of Papillion. Brilhart and Brown were traveling westbound on Cornhusker Road and reportedly had a green light at the intersection.<\/p>\n
Emergency crews from the Papillion Fire Department, Bellevue Fire Department, and Papillion Police Department responded to the scene. Carroll was transported to a local trauma center for treatment, but despite medical efforts, she was later pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n
