David\u2019s passing has left a painful emptiness in the hearts of his family, friends, neighbors, and everyone who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. At 73, David had spent a lifetime creating memories, building relationships, sharing experiences, and leaving pieces of himself in the lives of those around him.<\/p>\n
According to Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough, authorities were called to W. Labo Road, east of Woodslee Drive, at approximately 6:19 p.m. Preliminary information from the Monroe County Sheriff\u2019s Office indicates that David was operating an orange-and-black Scag Freedom Z 48-inch zero-turn lawn mower while traveling eastbound along the grassy shoulder of the roadway.<\/p>\n
The shoulder had a steep decline leading toward a ditch. While traveling along the area, David lost control of the mower for reasons that remain under investigation. The machine overturned and came to rest at the bottom of the ditch, leaving David trapped beneath it.<\/p>\n
Emergency crews quickly responded and worked to assist him. Despite their efforts, David sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n
Authorities reported that alcohol was not a contributing factor. The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
Members of the Ash Township Volunteer Fire Department, Monroe Community Ambulance, the Monroe County Sheriff\u2019s Office Victim Services Unit, and the Chaplain Program responded and provided assistance during the heartbreaking incident.<\/p>\n
