Dallas is grieving the devastating loss of 20-year-old Aniya Edwards<\/strong>, a young woman whose life came to a tragic and heartbreaking end after she was shot while driving on the evening of August 25. Instead, her promising journey was suddenly cut short, leaving a community to remember her life and mourn the future she will never get to experience.<\/p>\nAccording to the Dallas Police Department, officers responded to a shooting call around 8:35 p.m. in the 8000 block of West Virginia Drive. When officers arrived, they discovered a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to a hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.<\/p>\n
Police then located the driver of the vehicle, identified as Aniya Edwards. Investigators say Aniya had been shot by an unknown suspect before her vehicle struck the pedestrian. She was rushed to a hospital for treatment, but despite efforts to save her, she later died from her injuries.<\/p>\n
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and authorities are working to identify the person responsible. Anyone with information that could assist investigators is urged to contact the Dallas Police Department.<\/p>\n
