A Life Taken Too Soon, A Family Left With Heartache.

With broken hearts and tears that words can never fully express, we remember 32-year-old Antonio Hollis Jr., lovingly known as “Peedaman,” whose life was tragically taken in a shooting in Chicago on Saturday night, August 29, 2026. Antonio was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner as the man who lost his life in the devastating triple shooting, leaving behind a family and loved ones now facing an unimaginable pain.

At approximately 11:23 p.m., Chicago Police responded to reports of multiple people shot near Pershing and Michigan. Antonio was found inside a black vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the University of Chicago Hospital, where, despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced deceased.

A night that should have ended like any other instead became a moment of unbearable sorrow. Antonio, his 23-year-old sister, and another 31-year-old man were reportedly inside a vehicle near 37th and Wabash, where a large gathering was taking place, when gunfire erupted. His sister was wounded in the hand and remains in good condition, while the other victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and remains in critical condition.

But behind every headline is a human being. Behind the name Antonio Hollis Jr. was a son, a brother, a friend, and someone whose presence mattered deeply to those who knew and loved him. No family should ever have to receive the news that their loved one will not be coming home.

Antonio’s absence will be felt in countless ways—in quiet rooms, unanswered calls, familiar memories, and the moments when his loved ones instinctively expect to see him again.

May the memories of Antonio become a light in the darkness. May his family find strength when grief feels impossible to carry. And may every tear shed for him be a reminder of how deeply he was loved.

Rest peacefully, Antonio Hollis Jr. “Peedaman.” 🕊️💔🌹

May God comfort your family, surround them with love, and give them strength through every difficult day ahead. Our deepest condolences and prayers go out to everyone mourning this heartbreaking loss.

Gone from this world, but never forgotten. Forever remembered, forever loved. 🙏🏾🕊️💐
