Gabriel Getyina. Gone Too Soon, Forever Remembered.
The world feels a little heavier today as hearts across the community mourn the heartbreaking loss of Gabriel Getyina, a 27-year-old Bay City resident whose life was tragically cut short following a multi-vehicle crash on Veteran’s Memorial Bridge on September 3, 2026.
There are moments in life that leave us searching for words, and this is one of them. How do you say goodbye to someone when it feels like you were just speaking to them yesterday? How do you accept that a person who was here only moments ago is suddenly gone? For those who knew and loved Gabriel, this heartbreaking reality still does not seem real.
One grieving friend shared the pain of knowing he had just offered Gabriel a place to stay if he needed it, never imagining that the opportunity to be there for his brother would be taken away so suddenly. The love, regret, and heartbreak behind those words reveal just how deeply Gabriel was cared for.
Gabriel’s journey may have ended far too soon, but the memories he created, the lives he touched, and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Today, we remember more than the tragedy that took him away. We remember Gabriel—a son, a friend, a brother, and a soul whose absence will be felt beyond words.
May the road ahead be gentle beneath your wings, brother. May you find peace where there is no pain, and may those who loved you find strength in the beautiful memories you leave behind.
Fly high, Gabriel. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. Rest peacefully, brother. You will never be forgotten. 😔🕊️
