VANOL “BAB SCO” LUCKY.
A LIGHT TAKEN FAR TOO SOON. 🕊️💔
The city of Mobile is mourning tonight as hearts grow heavy over the heartbreaking loss of Vanol Lucky, affectionately known as “Babsco” or “VL.” Only 22 years old, Vanol’s life was tragically cut short, leaving behind unanswered questions, unimaginable sorrow, and a silence that no family or community should ever have to endure.
On Thursday, September 3, 2026, deputies with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office responded to Gethsemane Cemetery, where Vanol was found deceased between two gravesites. Authorities say he had suffered a fatal gunshot wound, and an investigation into his death remains ongoing.
Twenty-two years old is far too young. There were still pages left to write, dreams left to chase, memories left to create, and moments that should have belonged to the future. Now, those who knew and loved him are left holding onto the memories of the young man they called Babsco… VL… Vanol.
May his name never be reduced to the circumstances of his passing. May he be remembered for the life he lived, the presence he carried, and the place he held in the hearts of those who loved him.
Mobile County and the City of Mobile deserve answers. His loved ones deserve answers. And above all, Vanol deserves justice.
If you know anything about Vanol’s final hours or have information that could help investigators, please contact the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office at 251-574-8633.
