In Loving Memory of James Galt, Jr. A Life Remembered After a Tragic Golf Cart Accident.

With profound sadness, family, friends, and members of the Plymouth community are mourning the loss of James Galt, Jr., 64, of Plymouth, whose life came to a tragic end in the early hours of Sunday, August 16, 2026.

According to the Marshall County Coroner’s Office and Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, authorities were notified shortly after 1:00 a.m. of a golf cart accident at 10055 Pretty Lake Trail in Plymouth. The investigation determined that Galt had left the Pretty Lake Golf Club while driving a golf cart. The vehicle went off an embankment and landed on an asphalt parking lot, resulting in injuries that proved fatal.

James Galt, Jr. was pronounced deceased at the scene by Chief Deputy Coroner John Lampkins. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reported that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the accident. Responding agencies included the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Marshall County Coroner’s Office, and Plymouth Fire Department.

While the circumstances surrounding his passing are heartbreaking, James’s life should be remembered for far more than the tragedy that claimed it. At 64, he had spent decades creating memories, sharing moments with others, and leaving an impression on the people who knew him.

In this difficult time, thoughts and condolences are with James’s family, friends, loved ones, and all who are grieving his unexpected passing. May they find strength in the memories they shared and comfort in knowing that his life mattered to those around him.

May James Galt, Jr. rest in eternal peace, and may his memory remain a lasting source of love and remembrance.
