ERIN MYERS, A LITTLE SOUL GONE TOO SOON.

With hearts heavy with unimaginable grief, we remember three-year-old Erin Myers, whose precious life was tragically cut short in Columbia, South Carolina, while 21-year-old Tyrone Thompson Jr., identified as the child’s uncle, faces a weapons charge following the heartbreaking incident.

Erin was only three years old—a tender age meant for giggles, warm hugs, bedtime stories, playful adventures, and dreams just beginning to take shape. His life should have stretched endlessly before him, filled with birthdays, first days of school, friendships, family memories, and countless beautiful moments yet to come.

Columbia Police responded to the Colony Apartments at approximately 5:40 p.m. after Erin was shot. Authorities later determined that the child fired the gun himself. According to police, Thompson allegedly left the firearm unattended in a room with the toddler, fled the scene after the shooting, did not render aid, and later disposed of the weapon. Thompson has been charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

But beyond the investigation and the headlines is a little boy whose absence has left an unbearable silence. Erin was not simply a name in a breaking-news report. He was a beloved child, a precious life, and a little soul whose smile and presence meant everything to those who loved him.

May Erin’s memory live forever in the hearts of his family and everyone who knew him. May they find strength in the memories they shared, comfort in one another, and peace through the darkest days of grief.

Rest peacefully, sweet Erin. Your time here was far too short, but your memory will never be forgotten. 🕊️💙
