According to the circumstances provided, Rivera was driving his white 2025 Kia K5 eastbound on State Road 70 on a quiet Monday morning when a 2015 Freightliner semi-truck entered the eastbound lanes from Northeast 128th Avenue. The truck driver, a 40-year-old man from Margate, reportedly did not see Rivera’s vehicle before pulling onto the roadway.

The collision was sudden and severe. Rivera’s Kia was struck and forced against the side of the semi-truck’s trailer, leaving him critically injured. Emergency responders rushed to the scene and transported him to St. Mary’s Medical Center for urgent medical treatment. Despite those efforts, Rivera later succumbed to the injuries he sustained.

The truck driver was not injured in the crash.
