With profound sadness, we remember AJ T. Roberts, 19, of Crooksville, Ohio, whose life was tragically taken following a two-vehicle crash on August 19, 2026, in Perry County. AJ was pronounced deceased at the scene after the devastating collision on State Route 13 near State Route 757 in Reading Township.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 3:47 p.m. AJ was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 southbound on State Route 13 when his vehicle traveled left of the centerline and collided with a northbound 2024 Freightliner Cascadia. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, AJ could not be saved.

The loss of a young life at just 19 years old is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly circumstances can change. AJ had his entire future ahead of him, with countless possibilities, dreams, experiences, and memories still waiting to be made. His passing leaves behind grief that words can never fully express.

The truck driver, 42-year-old Erhan Icyer of Chicago, Illinois, suffered minor injuries and declined transportation by EMS.
