In Loving Memory of Betty Fort, Jessica Carroll, Walter Bunch and Rebecca Oglesby, Four Lives Forever Remembered.
With profound sadness, we remember Betty Fort, 53; her daughter, Jessica Carroll, 31; Walter Bunch, 59; and Rebecca Oglesby, 51, four victims whose lives were tragically taken during a devastating shooting spree in Burke County, Georgia.
According to investigators, the violence followed an earlier physical altercation involving Betty Fort and Adolphus Christopher Morris. Authorities say Morris later obtained a handgun before the deadly events unfolded.
Investigators believe Betty Fort and her daughter, Jessica Carroll, were the first victims, allegedly shot at Fort’s residence on Tom Bargeron Road. Morris then allegedly took Fort’s blue Ford pickup truck and traveled to Twin Lakes Drive, where Walter Bunch and Rebecca Oglesby were fatally shot.
Another man, Andrew “Tyler” Putnam, was also shot but survived his injuries and identified Morris as the person who allegedly shot him.
The four victims were discovered Sunday after deputies responded to separate welfare and unresponsive-person calls. They were pronounced dead at the scenes.
In Loving Memory of the Victims
Betty, Jessica, Walter and Rebecca were cherished human beings whose lives meant so much to their families, friends and loved ones. Their sudden and heartbreaking deaths have left behind an unimaginable void that words cannot fully describe.
Their loved ones will forever carry the memories of the moments shared, the conversations, laughter and experiences that made each of them special. While their lives were tragically cut short, the love they gave and the memories they created will never disappear.
May Betty Fort, Jessica Carroll, Walter Bunch and Rebecca Oglesby rest peacefully. May their families find strength, comfort and healing during this painful time. They may be gone from this world, but they will never be forgotten.
