Forever Remembered, In Loving Memory of Andy Schmidt.

With hearts filled with sorrow, we remember 42-year-old Andy Schmidt of Lexington, Kentucky, whose life came to a heartbreaking end after an apparent drowning near Lake Cumberland. Andy had been enjoying time outdoors and camping with friends in the Wolf Creek area when an ordinary evening suddenly turned into a desperate search and an unimaginable tragedy.

According to the Russell County Coroner, Andy went swimming Saturday night but did not resurface. Those around him immediately began searching, holding onto hope that he would be found safe. The search continued before being called off late that night, only to resume again Sunday morning.

Tragically, Andy was discovered near Lake Cumberland Marina at approximately 9:50 a.m. He was pronounced dead around 10 a.m. His passing leaves behind friends, loved ones and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him with memories that will never fade.

Andy’s death is a painful reminder of how quickly a peaceful moment can change and how precious every moment with the people we love truly is. Though words cannot erase the heartache left behind, the memories he created and the lives he touched will remain a lasting part of his story.

May those mourning Andy find strength in the love they shared with him and comfort in the memories that time cannot take away. May his life be remembered not only for the tragedy surrounding his final moments, but for the person he was, the moments he shared, and the memories he leaves behind.

Rest peacefully, Andy Schmidt. You will be remembered with love. 🕊️
