Mariana Fabian, 20, of Alto Pass, is being remembered with profound sadness after her life was tragically cut short in a devastating multi-vehicle crash on North U.S. Highway 51 near DeSoto, Illinois, on August 14, 2026. At just 20 years old, Mariana had so much life ahead of her, making her sudden passing an especially heartbreaking loss for her family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved her.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Mariana was traveling southbound in a silver Nissan Versa when a northbound vehicle crossed the centerline and struck her car in a head-on offset collision. Her vehicle left the roadway and overturned. Despite the efforts of first responders, Mariana could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
