Gone Too Soon at Just 18, Heartbreaking Loss of Ronald Fraley Leaves Fort Gay Mourning.

Ronald Fraley, only 18 years old and from Fort Gay, West Virginia, had his life tragically cut short in a devastating crash that has left loved ones and the community facing an unimaginable loss. A young life filled with dreams, hopes, and possibilities came to a heartbreaking end Thursday afternoon, as Ronald was killed in a two-vehicle collision along U.S. Route 52 in Wayne County. His passing is a painful reminder of how quickly life can change and how deeply the loss of someone so young can be felt by those who knew and loved him.

The heartbreaking crash happened at approximately 4:37 p.m. on August 27 near the intersection of Cedar Run Road in the Kenova area. According to West Virginia State Police, Ronald was traveling south on U.S. Route 52 when his vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a guardrail on the east side of the roadway.

The vehicle then traveled back across the roadway before colliding head-on with another vehicle. It subsequently overturned on the west side of the road. Ronald suffered catastrophic injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency crews responded to the devastating incident as investigators began working to understand exactly what happened. Authorities said that, based on the preliminary investigation, alcohol and drugs are not suspected to have contributed to the crash.

While investigators continue examining the circumstances surrounding the collision, Ronald’s next of kin has been notified. For those who knew him, however, the most important part of this story is not simply the circumstances of the crash, but the young life that was lost.

At only 18, Ronald had so much ahead of him. His dreams, plans, relationships, and future were abruptly taken away, leaving behind a painful emptiness that words can hardly describe. His family and friends are now left to hold onto the memories they shared with him and cherish the moments that can never be replaced.
