Today, we pause with heavy hearts to remember Stacey A. Perez Sr., 55, whose life was tragically taken in a devastating motorcycle crash on I-90 eastbound near the Eddy Road exit in Cleveland.
In the early morning darkness, a journey that should have ended with Stacey safely reaching his destination instead became a heartbreaking loss. Shortly after 1 a.m., emergency crews were called to the roadway after a person was reported down. Initial reports indicated that a motorcycle may have been struck from behind by a gray Mazda SUV before Stacey was tragically struck by a semi-truck. While investigators continue working to understand exactly what happened, one painful truth remains: a life that mattered deeply has been taken far too soon.
Stacey was more than a name in a tragic news report. He was a son, a father, a family member, a friend, and a cherished part of the lives of those who knew and loved him. Behind his name were memories, conversations, laughter, hopes, dreams, and countless moments that can never be replaced.
