Today, words feel far too small for the pain of losing someone so deeply loved. With hearts shattered and tears that cannot seem to stop, we mourn the passing of 62-year-old Jeffery L. Garner of DeRidder, Louisiana, whose life was tragically taken in a heartbreaking pedestrian crash on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
Jeffery was at a local car wash on E. 1st Street, simply going about his day, when a devastating crash changed everything in an instant. According to the DeRidder Police Department, a vehicle left the roadway and entered the car wash parking lot, striking Jeffery. He was taken to a local hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he sadly passed away.
There are moments when life changes in ways no family could ever be prepared for. The shock of losing someone without warning leaves behind an emptiness that words cannot repair. A life that held countless memories, conversations, smiles, struggles, hopes, and dreams has suddenly become a precious memory to those who loved him.
Jeffery’s absence will be felt in the quiet moments—the empty chair, the unanswered phone call, the familiar places that now seem different, and the memories that bring both comfort and tears. Though his journey on earth has ended, the love he gave and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
