Edmundas Berzanskis, a devoted husband, loving father of two, and talented mechanic from Caheravoley, Cummer, Tuam, Co Galway, is being remembered with deep sadness following his tragic death in a road traffic collision on Friday, August 14, 2026.

Edmundas, who was in his 30s, died at the scene of the single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Carraghy, along the N83 Claregalway to Tuam road, shortly before midnight. Emergency services and Gardaí responded at approximately 11:40 p.m., but sadly, his life could not be saved.

News of his passing has left family, friends, neighbours and members of the local community heartbroken. Those who knew Edmundas have described him as a hardworking and talented mechanic who was well liked by people in the area. His dedication to his work and the kindness he showed to those around him have become part of the memories being shared in his honour.

Councillor Donagh Mark Killilea also paid tribute, describing Edmundas as someone who worked locally and was very well regarded within the community.

As loved ones mourn, Edmundas will be remembered not only for his skills and hard work, but also as a cherished husband and father whose presence meant so much to his family.

Gardaí continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone who travelled along the N83 between 11:00 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. that night.

May Edmundas Berzanskis rest in eternal peace, and may his family find strength and comfort in the memories they shared with him. His life may have ended suddenly, but the love and memories he leaves behind will remain forever.
