In Loving Memory of Shonti Miles, A Life Remembered With Love and Sorrow.
With profound sadness, family, friends, and members of the St. Louis County community mourn the heartbreaking loss of Shonti Miles, 36, who died following a devastating early-morning crash in North St. Louis County, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 1:16 a.m. at the intersection of Lucas-Hunt Road and Maywood Avenue. Miles was reportedly driving an SUV southbound on Lucas-Hunt Road with three passengers when the vehicle traveled at a high rate of speed, crossed the center line, left the roadway, and struck an electrical pole with tremendous force.
Despite the severity of the crash, Miles could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passing leaves behind a profound sense of grief for those who knew and loved her.
Three passengers were also injured. A 21-year-old woman suffered serious injuries, while a 30-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman sustained moderate injuries. All three were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
The crash also damaged an electrical pole, reportedly leaving thousands of customers without power as crews worked to restore service.
