In Loving Memory of Bryce Gulley, A Young Life Remembered With Love.
With profound sadness, family, friends, and loved ones mourn the tragic passing of Bryce Gulley, 20, of Phenix City, Alabama, whose life was unexpectedly taken in an accidental drowning near the Dillingham Street Bridge in Columbus, Georgia. Bryce’s death has left those who knew and loved him facing a heartbreaking loss.
The tragedy unfolded late Monday night, August 17, as emergency crews responded to the river and began an extensive search. Columbus police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, a fire department boat, drones, and other resources were involved in the search, while the Dillingham Street Bridge was closed during the emergency response.
According to the Muscogee County Coroner’s Office, Bryce was later found near the Columbus Trade and Convention Center. He was pronounced deceased at approximately 8:57 a.m. Tuesday, August 18. Authorities determined that his cause of death was accidental drowning.
The circumstances surrounding Bryce’s passing are especially heartbreaking because he had turned 20 years old on August 17, the same day the search began. What should have been a day marking a new chapter in his young life instead became a day of unimaginable sorrow for his loved ones.
Bryce will be remembered not simply by the circumstances of his passing, but by the memories he created during his life. His family and friends will hold close the moments they shared with him, the conversations, laughter, kindness, and memories that will remain in their hearts.
Though his life was far too short, Bryce’s memory will continue to live on through everyone who loved him.
May Bryce Gulley rest peacefully, and may his family, friends, and loved ones find comfort, strength, and peace in the days ahead. Forever remembered, forever loved, and never forgotten.
