In Loving Memory of Curt Sims Jr. A Young Life Tragically Cut Short.
With profound sadness, we remember Curt Sims Jr., 19, whose life was tragically cut short after he was fatally shot Sunday night in Dayton, Ohio. Curt’s death has left his family, friends, and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss as they grieve a young man whose future held so much promise.
According to authorities, the shooting occurred shortly before 9 p.m. near McCabe and Groveland avenues. Dayton police officers responding to a 911 call discovered Curt in the middle of the intersection suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a local hospital, where medical professionals worked to save his life. Sadly, despite their efforts, Curt succumbed to his injuries.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office later identified him as the victim. Investigators remained at the scene, where numerous evidence markers were placed as detectives gathered information and worked to understand the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting.
At just 19 years old, Curt had his entire life ahead of him. His sudden passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly a life can be changed by violence. Those who knew him will forever carry memories of his presence, his personality, and the moments they shared with him.
