Robin Parker, 62, Remembered With Love, Springfield Mourns After Tragic Motorcycle Crash.
Robin Parker, 62, of Springfield, Missouri, is being remembered with love and deep sorrow following her tragic death in a two-vehicle crash on August 17, 2026. Parker was riding a motorcycle when she became involved in the collision at the intersection of Kearney Street and Patterson Avenue.
According to the Springfield Police Department, officers responded to the crash at approximately 9:14 a.m. Parker was traveling westbound on Kearney Street on a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle when she struck a 2020 Dodge Ram pickup that was turning left onto Patterson Avenue. The pickup was driven by Melvin Sommerfeld, 78, of Fordland.
Parker was transported to a hospital following the crash, but despite efforts to save her, she sadly died from her injuries. Her family was notified, leaving loved ones and those who knew her to face the heartbreaking reality of her sudden passing.
Her death marks Springfield’s 11th fatal motor vehicle crash of 2026, with 12 people losing their lives in such crashes so far this year. Behind that statistic is a family now grieving the loss of someone whose presence, memories, and place in the lives of others can never be replaced.
