Some losses are impossible to put into words. They leave behind a silence that feels heavier than anything we have ever known. Today, we remember Kyrie Dobbs, whose life was tragically taken in the early hours of Saturday morning in Kansas City, Missouri.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded near 54th Street and Michigan Avenue, where Kyrie and a woman were found suffering from gunshot wounds. Kyrie was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind loved ones who must now face the unimaginable pain of saying goodbye to someone they never expected to lose this way.
His life was more than the circumstances of his passing. He was a person with memories, dreams, laughter, relationships, and a place in the hearts of those who knew him. And although his time on earth was cut painfully short, the love he shared and the memories he created cannot simply disappear.
There are no perfect words for a loss like this. There is only the hope that, with time, the beautiful memories will become stronger than the pain of the goodbye.
