Austin Kopac, a 19-year-old man from Millington, Michigan, was among two young people who tragically lost their lives in a devastating three-vehicle crash in Tuscola County on September 5, 2026. A 16-year-old Vassar boy also died in the heartbreaking collision.
According to preliminary information, the crash happened around 1:30 a.m. on Deckerville Road near Plain Road in Ellington Township. Three vehicles were involved, and the impact left the cars severely damaged, with the Dodge Charger catching fire.
Austin was the driver of the Charger. Despite the efforts at the scene, he and the 16-year-old passenger were pronounced deceased. Four others suffered injuries, including several described as life-threatening, turning an already tragic morning into a moment of immense sorrow for multiple families and communities.
