The world feels a little quieter today as another young life has been tragically taken far too soon. 22-year-old Kayla Wells has been identified as the woman who lost her life in a fatal shooting inside a home on East 134th Street in East Cleveland.
What began as a welfare check reportedly turned into a heartbreaking scene that no family should ever have to face. According to initial reports, a man allegedly told responding officers that he had shot his daughter after she attacked him. Authorities say the man later threatened to take his own life before fleeing the scene, and he was eventually apprehended on Cleveland’s West Side.
Kayla was pronounced deceased, leaving behind a silence that words can hardly fill. At just 22 years old, there should have been countless more mornings ahead, more memories waiting to be made, more dreams still unfolding, and more chapters left to write.
