Vann Peepled, A Teacher Whose Lessons Will Live Forever.
Some losses are difficult to put into words, and the passing of Vann Peeples is one of those heartbreaking moments that leaves a community searching for the right words. Known as a dedicated math teacher at LPHS and recently stepping into a new role as a math coach at SHS, Vann was more than an educator—he was someone whose presence made a lasting difference in the lives of the students he taught.
The news of his passing comes with an especially heavy sadness for those who knew him through the classroom. Teachers have a remarkable way of leaving pieces of themselves behind, not only through lessons written on a board, but through encouragement, patience, guidance, and the belief they place in young people. Vann’s influence will continue through every student who remembers something he taught, every lesson that helped someone move forward, and every life he touched along the way.
His death followed a tragic crash on US 27 north of Tauchens Road on Tuesday evening, September 8, 2026. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the crash claimed the life of a 64-year-old Sebring woman and critically injured a 19-year-old driver.
For those mourning Vann, however, statistics and circumstances cannot capture what has truly been lost. They remember a teacher, a mentor, a coach, and a familiar face who mattered.
