A Life Gone Too Soon, A Memory That Will Never Fade.

The Ocala community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Julius Tanksley, 29, whose life was tragically cut short Wednesday morning after he was struck by a vehicle along County Road 200A. A moment that began like any ordinary morning ended in an unimaginable loss, leaving behind sorrow, unanswered questions, and memories that can never be replaced.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Julius was walking along the east shoulder near NE 110th Street when a silver Ford Explorer left the roadway and struck him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said the driver initially left the area, returning approximately an hour later in the damaged vehicle and admitting involvement in the crash. The driver, Matthew Boardman, 29, was charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death.

But beyond the investigation and the headlines is a young man whose absence will now be felt in countless quiet moments.

A heartbreaking tribute shared after the crash captured the disbelief surrounding Julius’s death: “RIP Julius Tanksley… I’m sitting here thinking about all the times we had, bruh. This shit just can’t be real.” Those words reflect the cruel reality of losing someone unexpectedly—the mind struggles to accept what the heart already knows.

Julius was only 29, with so much life still ahead of him, so many mornings yet to come, and so many memories still waiting to be made.

May his name continue to be spoken, his memories continue to be cherished, and his life never be forgotten.

Rest peacefully, Julius Tanksley. May you be remembered with love, dignity, and everlasting remembrance. 🕊️💔
