A Life Stolen Too Soon, Heartbreaking Farewell to Demetri Swinney.

There are no words powerful enough to capture the pain of losing Demetri Swinney, whose life was tragically cut short after he suffered multiple gunshot wounds in Leflore County, Mississippi. In the wake of this devastating loss, family, friends, and loved ones are left mourning a man whose life held meaning, whose presence mattered, and whose future should have included countless more moments of laughter, love, and cherished memories. Demetri was transported by private vehicle to UMMC Greenwood after the shooting. Despite efforts to save his life, Leflore County Coroner Debra Sanders confirmed that he was pronounced dead at the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

His death marks Leflore County’s fifth reported homicide of the year, but behind that heartbreaking statistic was a human being with dreams, memories, family, friends, and people who cared deeply about him.
