In Loving Memory of Todd Anderson, A Beloved Mayor, Friend, and Motorcycle Enthusiast Gone Too Soon.
The Sheldahl community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Mayor Todd Anderson, a beloved leader whose warm smile, kindness, and larger-than-life personality touched so many lives. Anderson died in a motorcycle crash Saturday night on Highway 141, leaving the small Iowa community of just 287 people facing an unimaginable loss.
Those who knew Todd remember him as someone who brought joy wherever he went. Sheldahl City Clerk Rachel Wicks described him as a bubbly and kind man who rarely became angry and always believed that some things simply were not worth getting upset about. His gentle spirit and positive attitude made him someone people could count on and remember fondly.
For Todd, motorcycles were more than a hobby—they were a passion. Whenever spring arrived, he was eager to get his bike back on the road, enjoying the freedom and happiness that riding brought him. One of his most cherished traditions was dressing up as the Sheldahl Easter Bunny and riding his motorcycle to the town’s Easter egg hunt, delighting the children who looked forward to seeing him.
His passing has left friends, neighbors, city officials, and residents struggling to comprehend a community without his presence. Mayor pro tem Kyle Greenwood is serving as acting mayor while Sheldahl prepares for the appointment of a successor.
As family, friends, and community members gather to say goodbye, Todd’s memory will live on through the smiles he shared, the people he helped, and the traditions he made special.
Rest peacefully, Todd Anderson. May the road ahead be peaceful, and may there truly be a Harley waiting for you in heaven. You will be deeply missed. 🌹🏍️💔
