James Calf Obituary, Death – Hudson Mourns 85-Year-Old Pedestrian Victim of Downtown Crash
HUDSON, Mass. — Authorities have confirmed that 85-year-old local resident James Calf has died following injuries sustained in a pedestrian crash that occurred in downtown Hudson last weekend.
Police reported that Calf passed away after being struck by a vehicle just before noon on Saturday, June 6, near 79 Main Street, directly across from Town Hall in Hudson, Massachusetts.
According to a press release from Hudson Police, officers responded to multiple reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found Calf suffering from serious injuries consistent with a major collision. Emergency personnel immediately transported him to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment.
On Monday, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed that Calf had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities stated that the driver involved in the crash remained at the scene following the incident. However, the identity of the driver has not been released, and no charges or citations have been announced at this time.
The crash remains under active investigation involving Hudson Police, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
