In Loving Memory, Daniel Gutierrez Remembered After Tragic Allen Township Crash.
Daniel Gutierrez, a 20-year-old Bethlehem man, is being remembered with sorrow after his life was tragically cut short in a single-vehicle crash Friday night in Allen Township, Pennsylvania. His death has left family, friends and others who knew him grieving the loss of a young life filled with possibilities and a future that will now remain unfinished.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, Gutierrez was driving a 2020 Honda Civic northbound on Weaversville Road shortly before 10 p.m. Investigators said the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when Gutierrez entered the opposing lane while attempting to pass several vehicles.
As the Civic reached the top of a slight hill, Gutierrez reportedly encountered oncoming traffic. While attempting to return to the northbound lane, he lost control of the vehicle. The Honda then left the roadway, struck a utility pole and continued into a cornfield, where it overturned several times before coming to rest east of Weaversville Road.
Gutierrez was pronounced dead at the scene by the Northampton County Coroner’s Office. The devastating incident also prompted a major emergency response, with the Allen Township Fire Department, Northampton Regional EMS, Northampton Regional Fire Department, PennDOT and PPL assisting state police and the coroner’s office.
Weaversville Road remained closed for approximately four hours as authorities investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Daniel’s passing is a painful reminder of how quickly life can change. At just 20 years old, he had so much life ahead of him, along with dreams, hopes and moments still waiting to be lived. His memory will now remain in the hearts of those who loved him and those whose lives he touched.
May Daniel Gutierrez rest peacefully, and may his family and friends find strength, comfort and peace as they mourn this heartbreaking loss.
