Henry’s life came to an unexpected end Friday evening, August 28, after a terrible collision near milepost 24. According to Oregon State Police, Henry was driving a Honda Fit eastbound when, for reasons still unknown, his vehicle crossed into the westbound lane. The crash involved several vehicles, leaving one life lost and eight others injured. Henry was transported by air to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, but despite every effort, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
There are no words that can truly soften the pain of losing someone this way. One moment, life was moving forward, and the next, everything changed. A family was left facing an emptiness they never expected, with memories now becoming the precious pieces of a life that can never be replaced.
Seventy-seven years hold countless stories—moments of laughter, lessons learned, friendships shared, family gatherings, quiet mornings, and memories that will continue living in the hearts of those who knew and loved Henry.
