Johnny Ray Reeves II, 38, and Nicole Massey, 39, were found deceased inside their Attala County, Mississippi, home on Sunday, August 30, 2026, while 18-year-old Isaiah Reeves, Johnny’s nephew, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with their deaths. Authorities said the two victims were discovered unresponsive inside their residence in the Zama community, prompting deputies and emergency medical personnel to respond to the scene.
According to authorities, the discovery was made at approximately 4:58 p.m. when an individual arrived at the home and found a man and woman unresponsive. The victims were later identified by Attala County Coroner Sam Bell as Johnny Ray Reeves II and Nicole Massey. Their bodies were transported to the state crime laboratory for autopsies as investigators worked to determine the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
The investigation later resulted in the arrest of Isaiah Reeves. Sheriff Curtis Pope said Reeves voluntarily appeared at the Attala County Sheriff’s Office accompanied by his attorney. Authorities identified him as the 18-year-old nephew of Johnny Ray Reeves II. He faces first-degree murder charges and is being held at the Leake County Correctional Facility, with bond set at $2 million.
