Today, our hearts are heavy as we remember Pierre Damas Bel, a young man whose life held so much promise, so many dreams, and a future that should have been filled with endless possibilities.
Pierre was more than a name in a heartbreaking story. He was a son, a friend, a student, and a young man who loved soccer and found pride in being part of JROTC. At only 20 years old, he had already overcome so much and was stepping into a new chapter of life at Wright State University, where he hoped to study neuroscience and build a meaningful future.
Those who loved Pierre knew the light within him—the dreams he carried, the determination in his heart, and the life he was still preparing to live. Yet today, that future has been tragically cut short, leaving behind questions, tears, and an emptiness that words can barely describe.
No family should have to say goodbye to someone so young. No father should have to carry the unimaginable pain of losing a child. Pierre’s absence will be felt in every memory shared, every soccer field that reminds loved ones of his passion, and every dream that now remains unfinished.
May we remember Pierre not only for the circumstances surrounding his passing, but for the person he was and the beautiful life he deserved to continue living.
Rest peacefully, Pierre. May your soul find the gentleness and peace that this world sometimes fails to give. You were here. You mattered. You were loved.
