In Loving Memory of Delores Roberts, A Life Remembered After a Tragic I-80 Crash.

HASTINGS, Nebraska — Delores Roberts, 73, of Hastings, is being remembered with love and deep sadness following a tragic crash on Interstate 80 in Hall County Thursday morning. Her life was taken in a devastating collision involving the SUV she was driving and a semi near the Grand Island interchange.

According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the crash around 7:50 a.m. near mile marker 312. Investigators said preliminary information indicates Roberts was traveling in a Dodge Journey in the eastbound direction but was in the westbound passing lane when her vehicle collided with a westbound semi.

The crash brought a sudden and heartbreaking end to the life of a woman who had spent 73 years creating memories with the people who knew and loved her. Roberts’ passing leaves behind sorrow that words cannot fully express, as family, friends, and members of her community mourn a life that will be deeply missed.

The semi driver, Josh Wakefield, 46, of North Platte, was transported to a hospital for possible injuries. Authorities said seat belts were in use in both vehicles.

Investigators are continuing to work to determine how the SUV entered the westbound lanes. Extremely low visibility caused by dense fog is being considered as a contributing factor, while alcohol is not suspected.

As the investigation continues, the focus now turns to remembering Delores Roberts and honoring the life she lived. May her memory remain a source of comfort to everyone who loved her.

Rest in peace, Delores Roberts. You will be remembered, cherished, and forever missed.
