IN LOVING MEMORY OF JOHN C. TRAUB: A LIFE REMEMBERED, A HEART FOREVER MISSED.

JOHN C. TRAUB. A LIFE REMEMBERED, A HEART FOREVER MISSED.

With profound sadness, we remember John C. Traub, 66, of Fairbury, whose life was tragically taken Friday morning in a devastating two-vehicle crash near Cullom. In only a moment, a life filled with memories, relationships, dreams, and countless ordinary moments became a cherished memory for those who knew and loved him.

According to Livingston County Coroner Michael E. Renner, John was pronounced dead at the scene after the Ford Ranger he was driving northbound on 3300 East Road entered Route 116 and was struck by an eastbound semi tractor-trailer. The semi driver was not injured.

But beyond the heartbreaking details of the crash is something far more important: a human life that mattered. John was more than a name in a report. He was someone’s loved one, someone’s friend, someone’s familiar face, someone’s reason to smile. He leaves behind memories that can never be replaced and an absence that words can never fully explain.

The road may eventually reopen, the vehicles may be cleared, and the passing days may slowly move forward—but for those who loved John, the world will never feel quite the same.

May the memories of his laughter, kindness, conversations, and the moments he shared with others become a gentle light during the darkest days.

Rest peacefully, John. Your journey on this earth may have ended far too soon, but the love you gave and the memories you created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew you.

🕊️ Gone from sight, but never from memory. Forever remembered. Forever missed. 🕯️

  • IN LOVING MEMORY OF ERIN MYERS: A LITTLE SOUL GONE TOO SOON.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF ERIN MYERS: A LITTLE SOUL GONE TOO SOON.

ERIN MYERS, A LITTLE SOUL GONE TOO SOON.

With hearts heavy with unimaginable grief, we remember three-year-old Erin Myers, whose precious life was tragically cut short in Columbia, South Carolina, while 21-year-old Tyrone Thompson Jr., identified as the child’s uncle, faces a weapons charge following the heartbreaking incident.

Erin was only three years old—a tender age meant for giggles, warm hugs, bedtime stories, playful adventures, and dreams just beginning to take shape. His life should have stretched endlessly before him, filled with birthdays, first days of school, friendships, family memories, and countless beautiful moments yet to come.

Columbia Police responded to the Colony Apartments at approximately 5:40 p.m. after Erin was shot. Authorities later determined that the child fired the gun himself. According to police, Thompson allegedly left the firearm unattended in a room with the toddler, fled the scene after the shooting, did not render aid, and later disposed of the weapon. Thompson has been charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

But beyond the investigation and the headlines is a little boy whose absence has left an unbearable silence. Erin was not simply a name in a breaking-news report. He was a beloved child, a precious life, and a little soul whose smile and presence meant everything to those who loved him.

May Erin’s memory live forever in the hearts of his family and everyone who knew him. May they find strength in the memories they shared, comfort in one another, and peace through the darkest days of grief.

Rest peacefully, sweet Erin. Your time here was far too short, but your memory will never be forgotten. 🕊️💙

  • In Loving Memory of Fannie Johnson: A Heart That Served Meridian With Love.

In Loving Memory of Fannie Johnson: A Heart That Served Meridian With Love.

Fannie Johnson, A Heart That Served Meridian With Love.

💔 MERIDIAN, MISSISSIPPI — Some people leave behind memories. Others leave behind a legacy so powerful that their kindness continues to live in the hearts of an entire community. Today, Meridian mourns the heartbreaking loss of Fannie Johnson, a former City Councilwoman, U.S. Army veteran, and longtime Executive Director of L.O.V.E.’s Kitchen.

For more than four decades, L.O.V.E.’s Kitchen has been a place of compassion, nourishment, and hope for local residents facing hardship and homelessness. At the center of that mission stood Fannie Johnson—a woman who dedicated herself to making sure no neighbor was forgotten and no hungry person was turned away.

Her service reached far beyond the kitchen. As a member of the Meridian City Council, she devoted herself to representing her community and advocating for the people she cared so deeply about. In 2017, she was honored as Meridian’s Citizen of the Year, a recognition of the tremendous difference she made through a lifetime of service.

Her death has left a profound emptiness in the community she worked so tirelessly to serve. Mayor Percy Bland described Johnson as the “absolute heart of Meridian,” remembering her as a dedicated servant leader whose compassion touched countless lives.

Authorities say one suspect is currently in custody as federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies continue investigating the circumstances surrounding her death. The suspect’s name, cause of death, and specific location of the incident have not yet been released.

As investigators continue their work, the community waits for answers and justice.

Today, we remember Fannie Johnson not simply for the positions she held, but for the lives she touched, the meals she provided, the people she encouraged, and the love she gave so freely.

May her years of service never be forgotten. May her family find strength in the love surrounding them. And may the legacy she built continue to feed, comfort, and inspire Meridian for generations to come.

🕊️ Rest peacefully, Fannie Johnson. Your service mattered. Your kindness mattered. Your life mattered. And your legacy will live on.

🙏 May she rest in eternal peace.

At just 29 years old, Ryan had so much life still waiting for him—more moments to make, more memories to create, more laughter to share, and more chapters left unwritten.

On September 2, authorities responded to a heartbreaking report of a deceased person in Drake’s Creek, near the Reginald Kirby Bridge in the 1200 block of Old Scottsville Road. Deputies discovered Ryan at the scene. His passing has left behind questions, grief, and a painful emptiness that words can hardly describe.

As this investigation continues, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have seen Ryan near the Reginald Kirby Bridge between August 27 and September 2, or anyone who was with him during that time, to come forward.

RIDE IN PEACE, SHANE MARSHALL. 🕊️🏍️💔

Some losses are difficult to put into words, because the memories left behind are simply too deep for language to hold. Today, we remember Shane Link Marshall, a 32-year-old Las Vegas resident, whose life was tragically taken in a motorcycle crash on I-11 near Horizon Drive on August 27, 2026.

Shane was more than a name in a heartbreaking news update. He was a son, a brother, a friend, a fellow rider, and a proud U.S. Marine whose presence touched the lives of people who had the privilege of knowing him.

As one friend beautifully remembered, Shane, his brother, and his father, Link, were Groundshakers years ago when he first became club president. Those memories of motorcycles, friendship, racing, laughter, and brotherhood now carry an ache that words can hardly describe. Shane’s father, Link, had also been a night-race teammate in the MRAN Night Race Series until cancer took his life.

And now, heartbreakingly, Shane has joined his father beyond this world.

Just a few months ago, Shane was seen at the VA. No one could have known that moment would become one of the memories his loved ones would hold onto so tightly.

On August 27, authorities say Shane’s 2021 Harley-Davidson left its lane, struck a concrete barrier, overturned, and ejected him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Today, we remember the life behind the tragedy—the smile, the brotherhood, the memories, and the miles traveled.

Ride in peace, Shane. May the roads beyond this life be endless, peaceful, and free. May your family find strength in every beautiful memory you left behind. Until we meet again, keep riding among the stars. 🕊️🏍️💔

Much love to Shane’s family, friends, fellow riders, and everyone whose heart carries his memory.
