In Loving Memory of Antoine Stowers, A Young Life Remembered After Tragic Hancock County Crash.
The community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Antoine Stowers, 19, of Indianapolis, who died Wednesday afternoon, August 19, 2026, following a devastating single-vehicle crash in Hancock County, Indiana. His passing has left family, friends, and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss as they remember a young life that ended far too soon.
At approximately 2:40 p.m., members of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of County Roads 600 North and 350 West, just northeast of Indianapolis Regional Airport, after receiving reports of a vehicle that had left the roadway, possibly overturned, and caught fire.
Deputies arrived and found a severely damaged 2001 Ford Crown Victoria containing one adult male. Despite their efforts, there were no signs of life. Mr. Stowers was pronounced deceased at the scene. Firefighters and EMS personnel worked carefully to extricate him from the wreckage, while authorities later confirmed his identity and notified his family.
Investigators said evidence indicated the Crown Victoria had been traveling westbound on County Road 600 North, likely at a high rate of speed, before leaving the roadway and striking a large tree. Stowers was reportedly wearing a seatbelt, and investigators said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be contributing factors at this time.
As the investigation continues, those who knew Antoine are left to grieve a life filled with possibilities and a future that will never be realized. May his memory remain a source of comfort to everyone who loved him.
Rest in peace, Antoine Stowers. May you be remembered with love, and may your family find strength and comfort during this difficult time.
