With profound sadness, family, friends, and members of the Plymouth community are mourning the loss of James Galt, Jr., 64, of Plymouth, who tragically passed away in a golf cart accident early Sunday morning, August 16, 2026.
According to information released by the Marshall County Coroner’s Office and Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, emergency authorities were notified shortly after midnight following a report of an accident at 10055 Pretty Lake Trail. The investigation determined that Galt had left the Pretty Lake Golf Club while driving a golf cart when the vehicle went off an embankment and landed on an asphalt parking lot.
Despite the efforts of responding authorities, James Galt, Jr. suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Marshall County Coroner’s Office. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reported that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the accident.
The news of James’s passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how suddenly life can change.
